Artimus Pyle, his oldest son Chris Pyle, and long time family friend David Earl Tomlinson immediately began brainstorming on the idea of a benefit concert to aid Chris’ son, Cassady, aka ‘Caz’, as soon as the devastating news of massive destruction arrived. Caz’s family’s flood insurance did not cover any household contents such as basic appliances like a stove and a refrigerator. Everything was contaminated by flood waters mixed with sewage. This concert aims to help fill the financial gap between homeowners insurance companies and FEMA. Salvage Station generously offered their venue for this incredible night of world class music to support this fundraiser. 100% of the ticket proceeds go directly to affected family members. About Artimus Pyle
“I do a lot of benefits and fundraisers, from St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to cancer research”, says Artimus Pyle. “Every cause I can lend the power of music to help people, and now I want to help my own family with Hurricane Matthew relief. My grandson, Cassady Pyle, and his mom who live in St. Augustine, FL, lost almost everything due to the storm surge and flooding. You don’t want to miss this great musical event for all the right reasons at an incredibly cool venue, Salvage Station.”
Artimus and Friends will perform new songs written for a movie that Artimus has in the making about the Skynyrd plane crash as well as all the favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd tunes that his band plays on tour. Chappell’s songs tell the stories of what it was like growing up as a kid around Lynyrd Skynyrd and later hiking into the jungle and drumming with tribes in Ghana, Africa. Chris Pyle’s musical life began during his toddler days on the road with his dad and Lynyrd Skynyrd followed by time spent in Jerusalem as a teenager. He toured the world playing drums with an avant garde rock band, Royal Trux, during the 90’s. David Earl Tomlinson is a highly acclaimed commercial sign and metalwork artist as well as an accomplished singer song-writing guitar player who performs with his heart on his sleeve and his soul hanging on the last note.
