From Telluride Bluegrass Festival to SxSW and all points beyond – Head for the Hills creates a sound based in bluegrass that reaches into indie rock, jazz, hip hop, world and folk to stitch together fresh songs that bridge the divide between past and future acoustic music.
The quartet recently released their third studio album, ‘Blue Ruin’, which has received positive praise. Renowned artist Timothy Doyle (Muse, The Black Keys, Lucas Films, NASA) created the stunning cover art for ‘Blue Ruin.’
Head for the Hills has performed and appeared at many premier festivals and radio programs: Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, Wakarusa Music Festival, DelFest, RockyGrass, High Sierra Music Festival, SxSW, NPR-Ideastream, eTown, Northwest String Summit FloydFest and many more. The band was named “Best of Colorado Bluegrass” for 4 consecutive years via Westword Magazine (Denver, CO) and also co-released a craft beer with one of USA Today’s “Top 15 Craft Beer Breweries” – Odell Brewing Co.
