Stones vs. Zeppelin Singing Showdown! | Free

  • Salvage Station 667-464 Riverside Drive Asheville, NC, 28801 United States (map)

For ages, men and women across America and the world have stood divided on one of the most culturally significant and pressing issues facing us as a people. You see, some have argued that The Rolling Stones were greater than Led Zeppelin. Fighting back, others have proclaimed that Zeppelin was greater than the Stones. Friend has fought friend. Brothers have battled brothers. Sisters have stood against sisters. And mediocre garage rock bands across this nation have broken apart, only to form two lesser bands in lesser garages....

On Tuesday, February 21st, the time will come to end the war. Talentless singers armed with nothing but enthusiasm, lyric sheets and beer will gather before a even less talented chorus conductor and sing Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. Fortunately, our trusty musicians will bring enough talent for all of us as they perform the rock for our roll.

If you have never joined us before, know that there is no before hand pracitce needed, no singing skills required, and Mick Jagger/Robert Plant leotard jeans are merely optional.

We will meet at the Salvage Station starting at 5:30 to order drinks and get settled in. At 6:00, we will step up on our elementary school chorus risers. We will sing one song with the band. Break. Then sing the other. and then if we still can't decide who the victor is, we will arm wrestle.

Hope to hear you there!
