DRIVIN' N' CRYIN'
Celebrating their 30th Anniversary together, Atlanta-based southern hard rock act Drivin n Cryin charges into 2015 with plans for a new studio release and a whole lot of touring!
With a gold record, 10 full-length albums and a handful of EPs to their credit, the band still refuses to rest on its laurels, adding Jason and the Scorchers axe man, Warner E. Hodges, to the lineup and continuing to tour the United States and Europe to great acclaim. In 2015, a vinyl-only collection of 10 choice cuts from the band’s 4-EP “Songs” series, entitled Best of Songs, will be released on Nashville’s Plowboy Records.
Comfortable with their past and confident in their future, the band has an arsenal of songs, a full tank of gas, and no plans of stopping any time soon.
Darrin Bradbury is an American satirist. A left-of-center folk singer. With a batch of songs that celebrate the humor and heartbreak of everyday American life, he’s spent the past decade traveling his way across the country, making pit stops at dive bars, listening rooms, punk houses, and world-class theaters along the way. The people he’s met during his cross-country trips — the seedy characters filling America’s underbelly, the corporate elite working out of corner offices, the blue-collar "everymen" who refill our coffee cups and ring up our purchases at Office Depot — all find their way into his music, which follows the offbeat tradition of John Prine, Shell Silverstein and Steve Goodman.
In May 2016, Rolling Stone named Darrin ‘one of the top 10 New Country Artists you need to know’. He has been touring this year in support of his latest record ‘Elmwood Park: A Slightly Melodic Audiobook’ which he released in the Fall of 2016 and immediately hit the road, including dates with Nashville rule breaker Margo Price. With a new record on the way in and plans to tour as much as possible, 2017 looks to be a busy year already! Darrin’s blend of satire and social commentary coupled with enormous talent makes for a raucous good time.
"...lilting at its start and then heavy in moments. Ion rich melodies drift[ing] above murky psychedelic guitar parts that hint at both slack-key tunings and beach party horror films." -Alli Marshall (Mountain Xpress).
Although the band is tagged most often as surf- influences can be heard from Santo and Johnny to Hawkwind. It's WEIRD reverb-dolloped instrumental music to feel good and bad to. Ouroboros Boys have had the distinct honor of sharing the stage with national acts such as Agent Orange, Man or Astroman, Southern Culture on the Skids and Kid Congo Powers (The Cramps) AND have served as the house band for several regular "tiki night" events in and around Asheville. The current lineup includes Mars Sigler and Benjamin Hatch in addition to founding members Sean Dail and Nicholas Marshall.
